My final stop of my self-guided walking tour was the Vietnam Memorial, which included statues of soldiers fighting in the war and a memorial commemorating those who died in Vietnam.

My next stop was the Lincoln Memorial. The most interesting part of visiting these large attractions is people-watching. A couple made out at the stairs of the memorial while several men with religious signs sat on the stairs a few feet away.

On my way to the Lincoln Memorial, I walked past the Reflecting Pool and the Washington Monument. The Reflecting Pool was under construction, but beautiful nonetheless. The reflections of the monument in the pool combined with the beautiful day made for some postcard-esque images.

The World War II Memorial featured wreaths for every state. Several of the states had temporary memorials in front of them for veterans who had recently passed away.
